Rectangular and slot channels decouple the two axes of the image: resolution is held fine in one direction while the open long axis raises geometric efficiency. OEM platforms specify these lead collimator geometries where detector pixel pitch and acquisition mode call for directional response rather than hexagonal symmetry.
